The Cavalry IPC10010 is a dream-come-true for end users who don't want to struggle through an installation process requiring any network knowledge.
The distinctive feature of this camera is that it relies entirely on the smartphone app to function: no embedded web interface and apparently no way to use it with any other 3rd party application.
This effectively eliminates the complexity of the configuration: Install the "View Anytime" app on your smartphone or tablet, scan the QR code to register the device, and off you go.. that's it! One minute and you have an IP camera ready and accessible from both inside your LAN and outside.
This is the perfect device for end users who don't want to bother with the technical side.
For computer nerds, however, this is not far from a pure nightmare: what! no web interface? no rtsp streaming? no Onvif compatibility? No firmware updates?
As a member of this group, I can't help thinking that it shouldn't have been so difficult to please n00bs and geeks altogether by combining the easy setup with access to more complex functions.
Cavalry is working on an evolution of this model with a web interface.
